The "Gesture As Value", project is
an international project presenting exchange as social value
In ten countries -- South Korea, Switzerland, United States, Canada, England, the Netherlands, Germany,
Romania, Italy and France -- I am collecting original
gestures on small pieces of paper the size of an American Dollar (2 1/2" X 6").
The papers collected will become
part of public installations and exhibitions in Bern
(Switzerland) Toronto, Canada (Bank of Symbiosis) and New York, NY. The papers will be accessable to
the public through ATM bank machine transactions. Overall views of all gestures
received will be shown at the Galerie Francesca Pia, Bern
(Switzerland) and Kentler International Drawing Space, Brooklyn (New
York).
The "Gesture As Value", project is
an international project presenting exchange as social value intending to minimize national borders and offer
individuals, using the machine, a broad perspective on other
realities. The only requirement is that the contributions be
made onto the papers provided or onto papers precisely the
same dimensions and of similiar weight (80-120
g)
IT CAN BE A DRAWING, QUOTE,
PAINTING, COMPUTER ART, OBSERVATION, THOUGHT, IDEA,
ETC.
HERE ARE THE FOUR
CATEGORIES:
1. ART: This means you can paint,
draw, print, sketch, xerox, do computer graphics, XEROX ART,
or use any other visual format. Glued or attached images to
the paper will NOT function in the machine.
2. THEORY AND TEXT: Essays,
analysis, criticisms, poetry, music, fiction, and or
non-fiction can be written.
3. QUOTES: Quotes from yourself,
the famous,or the unknown
4. INSIGHTS AND SPECULATIONS:
Thoughts, reflections, observations, dreams, perceptions,
intuitions and new perspectives.
