TWIN LIONS CORNERSTONE EXCAVATION

DISCOVERY

In 5486 Lapsumatera, the site was stumbled upon by a small child in the act of pursuing her bouncing ball.

This repetitive act of flinging out and retrieving a toy, documented by Sigmund Freud as the "fort da" principle, is a self-induced exercise to facilitate a child's adjustment to the daily disappearance and reappearance of his parents. Since children ar e often urged to play such games outdoors, it often leads to them plummeting into openings in the ground and discovering prehistoric sites with Paleolithic cave paintings.
