The following screens are e-mail responses to my web project Art Direct/ Sex, Violence & Politics. The page gets 72,000 hits in a month. It uses manipulated pornographic images among other devices. It is a protest against the Communications Decency Act recently passed by the United States congress. It is actually illegal for me to present this work on the internet. This piece is also a meditation on American mass media. It's intent is to make the accessor uncomfortable, to provoke a response. The 72,000 hits show that most people access this page for the porno. What they unexpectedly get is an artwork.
